One of the aspects that make our city vibrant and unique is our deep love and rich history of live music. I am dedicated to preserving this tradition and ensuring it continues to thrive, as it has been an integral part of Irvine for decades.
Irvine's journey with live music began with the iconic Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. This beloved venue hosted countless memorable performances for 35 years before it closed in 2016 to make way for housing developments.

In 2017, FivePoint Amphitheater opened as a replacement, serving as a temporary venue while plans for a more permanent amphitheater at the Great Park were developed. After several years of hosting live events, FivePoint Amphitheater permanently closed on October 21, 2023.

I have been advocating for the city to manage and operate its own amphitheater ever since I got elected. This decision is not just about preserving live music, but also about creating a space that truly belongs to and benefits the residents of Irvine.
By managing our own amphitheater, we can have greater control over the venue’s size and impact. We can ensure that the venue is designed and managed in a way that best suits our needs. This includes control over noise levels, scheduling, and types of events.
My decision to advocate and approve a city-managed amphitheater is a testament to my commitment to you, the residents of Irvine, and the preservation of live music in our city. It’s a decision that takes into account a variety of factors and stakeholder perspectives, ensuring that your needs and desires are at the forefront of the decision-making process.
I am excited about the future of live music in Irvine and look forward to the many benefits that our city-managed amphitheater will bring to our community.
